These students and athletes were recognized for their outstanding performances during the Kiwanis All Valley Classic last week in Hamilton. Also recognized were those teams and individuals who won state championships. In the front row –Stuart Landis, Corvallis, Player of the Year; Aaron Johnston, Darby, state track champion; Mary Conwell, Hamilton, Class A girls singles champion, Player of the Year; Kara Wetzsteon, Hamilton, Stephanie Gonzales Memorial Sportsmanship award; Sadi Henderson, Corvallis, state track winner; Lakyn Connors, Corvallis, state track winner; Ayden Eickoff, Corvallis, state track winner. In the back row – Austin Atkins, Corvallis, lineman of the year; Eli Rogers, Hamilton, state A boys golf champion; Colton Johnston, Darby, Jeremy Campbell, Dylan Leidner,  Class B boys track team championship; Jeff Clark, Corvallis, Spirit Award; Chase Connor, state champion, wrestling; Ryno Baerlocher, Florence; Riley Philips, Florence, Stephanie Gonzales Memorial Sportsmanship award; Britney Chilcott, Stevensville, volleyball player of the year; Caleb Vance, Stevensville, football player of the year; Chris Maul-Smith, Corvallis tennis coach; Dave Bradshaw, retiring Corvallis basketball coach; and Riley Bradshaw, boys basketball player of the year. Alycia Sims was named girls basketball player of the year. She is from Stevensville.

 

 

 

Darby Spring Classic

The Darby Athletic Department will be hosting a five-on-five-basketball tournament April 20th and 21st. The event will take place at the Darby High School and Darby Junior High gyms. Boys and girls in grades fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth can participate. If there are not enough teams in a division, some divisions may be combined. Entry fee is $125 per team. Every team is guaranteed four games. Each team will play three seeding games and then a single elimination tournament. Game schedules will be mailed out on Tuesday, April 17th. A maximum of eight teams per division are available. Registration deadline is April 13 or when the divisions are full.
