Well, Hallelujah! Seven uber conservatives, after helping to engineer the takeover of the Republican Party in Ravalli County, have filed to become precinct committee men or women for the Democratic Party. Let’s name names: Lyle E. Goracke, Jan Wisniewski. Donna Gibney, Pamela Nearpass, Catherine Lieberth, Wayne K. Dunkin and David J. Erickson. Recognize any or all of them? They’re all extremely conservative and they’re all saying they are suddenly Democrats. Because they filed for uncontested positions, they will be automatically elected as Democratic Party officials. (It has been customary in our County Democratic Party to allow the Chairman to appoint interested individuals, not to run them through the electoral process.) And, as whipped cream, Wisniewski and Dunkin are running as Democrats in the upcoming election.
The Ravalli County Democratic Party Central Committee, with its tongue firmly in cheek, welcomes these seven previously lost but now converted souls. Your participation in the Central Committee will at least double active Democrats in the Valley. Your generous contributions to our bank account is sure to swell it beyond the $1.32 it currently has. Your enthusiastic assistance to Democratic candidates besides yourselves will be appreciated. We look forward to you not only putting up Democratic signs in your yards but also in those of your still benighted friends. And, lastly, we are forever grateful for helping us lose our naivete. You see, Democrats have stupidly believed in honesty and fair dealing and the American way. We can hardly wait to learn more from the bag of Conservative/Libertarian dirty tricks.
And, by the by, thanks for energizing the Democratic base. Any moderate Republicans out there looking for a home?
