On Sunday afternoon, June 6th, the Richard Cromwell Memorial Rodeo Grounds in Darby held the 2nd Annual Yellowstone Riggin’ Rally. Established by the Steiner Family last year, this nationally broadcasted event featured the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association and the top 24 Bareback Riders from the PRCA. In what was called the “The World’s Richest Bareback Riding” we not only saw riders from all around the country compete, but even two from our own Bitterroot Valley: Richmond Champion, from Stevensville, and Caleb Bennett, from Corvallis.
In what was an electric night, Bennett finished with a score of 88 in the final round, placing him at 5th, and Champion tied for 6th with a score of 85.5. Utah native, Kaycee Field, earned the title of Riggin’ Rally Champion, riding for a score of 92.5.
All in all, it was an incredible rodeo, taking place in our very own small-town Darby. With an amazing family-friendly atmosphere, and some of the best bareback riding in the world, this is definitely an event you will want to look out for next summer.
