Dear Council Members and Mayor:
I am writing to express my concerns about Zoom meetings instead of public meetings. The Governor’s mandate does not require Zoom meetings and I feel the public will be shut out of important meetings and comment periods in the future. With the agenda only offering comments via email or drop box shortly before the meeting is offensive and prevents city resident participation in town affairs.
Consider larger space areas for distancing inside with masks or outside with 6 feet distancing (masks optional) is what I understand is required statewide. Use the city park for an outdoor location as weather permits. Consider that not many will know how to use Zoom and elderly residents may not have a home computer. There are five residents in my neighborhood who are without a computer.
Reconsider this unnecessary and undemocratic way of conducting town business.
