On Sunday April 4th, we heard quite a commotion on our street! When we went out to check, there were some 15/20 firetrucks and first responder vehicles all lined up with lights a-blazing. By that time, many of the neighbors were outside too. Turns out the crews were setting up a birthday “surprise” for some children on the next block who could not have a party because of social distancing. It warmed the old heart! Not only were these people out doing something for others but it was good to see our neighbors too. We all waved and clapped our hands as the trucks blared their horns and flashed their lights. Thanks, we needed that!
