Just a short analysis here. When the government extorts money from those who work by force, it aggravates them. When it gives it to those who have not earned it, it makes permanent beggars of them. As you may understand, neither of these is a good thing. Charity should be left to charity organizations. When government attempts to do charity, it does it extremely poorly, inefficiently and usually counter-productively. Once in a blue moon a government gets it right. Chile, I think it was, eliminated their government run social security by allowing tax free investment which paid several times as much as the government did. An excellent solution to that problem.
Sadly, most so-called Republicans are now RINOs. We have bought into big socialist government incrementally over so many years, we are now just another socialist government. And sweet old Bernie promises us “free” college education for all. Needless to say, he does not say who pays for it.
In case you haven’t figured it out, socialism (and Communism) do not work.
I am reminded of a sign at a national park:
Do not feed the bears.
They will become dependent.
It seems we have more common sense dealing with bears than with humans.
I hope this helps.

Elected Republicans have been promoters of big government for decades, ever since replacing tax and spend with the far more pernicious concept of borrow and spend. And you are just figuring this out?
