New York City singer-songwriter and violinist Skye Steele joins forces with Missoula native Bells From Linden (Lindsey Stormo) for a night of intimate folk duets at the Stevensville Playhouse on Saturday, November 23 at 7 p.m.
Steele has a long association with the Bitterroot Valley thanks to family connections here, and has written two of his albums during month-long sabbaticals in Victor, where he stayed with his uncle and aunt, Tom and Dr. Nilda Bishop. It was there during the writing of what would become his 2017 album, “All That Light,” that Steele met Stormo and the two began collaborating.
That summer the pair recorded and released “The Midnight Duets,” and have since performed together in NYC, but this fall marks their first concerts back in Montana. Using fiddle, baritone fiddle, guitar, and tenor ukulele, they’ll perform songs from Steele’s two ‘Bitterroot’ albums as well as originals by Stormo and covers from artists like Joanna Newsom and Bonny “Prince” Billy.
In addition to their appearance at the Stevensville Playhouse, they will perform together on November 22 at St. Paul’s Church in Helena, and on November 24 at the Longstaff House in Missoula.
Tickets are $15 general admission, $10 seniors, $5 students. Advance ticketing at
