A BIG thank you to the Volunteer Stevensville Fire Department for once again faithfully organizing the 9/11 Memorial Procession and Ceremony. Also greatly appreciated are the many other valley fire departments, police, first responders, Stevensville’s American Legion Post #94 and the Celtic Dragon Band from Missoula.
The new venue of Lewis and Clark Park provided a beautiful mountain scenic backdrop for the ceremony and more staging everyone. It also provided ample and easy parking. Gathering on Sept 10th, the night before; fits well for people who are working during the day and also on 9/11 allowing to view the live TV coverage of events in New York and possibly join local events later.
Remember to be thankful for your First Responders. When the local fire departments are called to your emergency, remember that they are volunteering to serve their community and are called away from work and family events at a moments notice without knowing how long they will be gone.
