I believe if there is one thing we can all agree on, it is the positive impact that Dolly Parton has had on American Culture.
Dolly was a force of nature…a true spirit of “live and let live” and a singular positive influence on so many lives! Perhaps Dolly‘s greatest gift was the Dolly Parton “Imagination Library”reading program begun in 1995 which, over the years, has provided more than 300 million books to young readers through local libraries, including our own!
Dolly took on this project because, among other things, her father was illiterate. Dolly was the fourth of 12 children, and she wanted her family to all have the gift of reading.
This little girl from Pittman Center, Tennessee has had a more positive impact on the world than all the politicians combined. She will be sorely missed for her universal message of Peace, Tolerance, Caring, and Positive Spirit!
