Sad that a Colonel does not comprehend what I wrote regarding democracy. I served my country 28 years in the navy and the army. I took the oath many times and not once did I ever say the word “democracy.” No Colonel, no one has died for our country defending democracy. They may have defended the Constitution, they may have defended the republic, but certainly not democracy. It has been pointed out numerous times that democracy is a suicidal form of government. One of the Founding Fathers was asked what they had wrought with their Constitution. His reply: A republic if you can keep it. We have not kept it.
In the words of Ayn Rand: “There is no difference between Communism and Socialism, except in the means of achieving the ultimate end. Communism proposes to enslave by force, Socialism – by vote. It is merely the difference between murder and suicide.”
