Jose “Josie” Herman Selig, 96, of Ravalli County, Montana died April 21, 2026.
Born in Allegany County, Pennsylvania, she moved to Hamilton, Montana, 10 years ago from Fort Myers, Florida. Prior to moving to Florida, Josie spent many years in the Chicago area where she married and raised her family. Josie had many hobbies and interests, including geology, metaphysical studies, Clipped Wings Club, and her St. Germaine Book Club. Before marrying and starting a family, she led a glamorous life as a flight attendant for TransWorld Airlines (TWA) and would often regale her family and friends with stories about dinners with notable sports and other celebrities on layovers in New York City, such as Yogi Barra and Paul Harvey. In addition, she was ahead of her time, teaching yoga in the early 1970s, long before it became popular.

She is survived by her children, Jodie (Jim) Hurckes, Stephanie (Scott) Haymond, Brock (Kim) Selig, and Tonie (Ken) Miller, and 16 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren, and her brother, Tony (Evie) Herman, and several nieces and nephews. Josie was preceded in death by her husband, Henry F Selig, brothers Bert and George Herman, her sisters Maryann Hines and Jane Hughes, and her sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Jerry Richard.
