The Bitterroot Red Sox will play again this weekend at the Montana State Class A Legion baseball championship in Miles City this weekend. The Red Sox lost to the Glacier Twins, 15-8, in the championship game. However, the top two teams advance and the Red Sox will play Lewistown in the second game of the state tournament. Glacier defeated the Red Sox, 4-0, in their first meeting.
Friday night the Bitterroot Bucs and the Bitterroot Red Sox renewed their rivalry.The Bucs scored first when Kolby Kohlman hit a double and then Liam LeCoure hit an RBI single. That was the only run for the Bucs until the fifth inning. The Red Sox broke the game open when Hunter Omlid hit a 2RBI home run in the fifth.
The Bucs defeated the Kalispell Lakers, 5-4, to stay alive. They went back up against the Red Sox on Saturday afternoon. The Bucs took an early lead but the Red Sox clawed their way back into the game. Matt Brown tied the game at 7-all with a three RBI hit. Omlid then knocked a single to score Brown and the Red Sox won, 8-7.
