Shannon Byrne pitched a no-hitter in the Lady Falcons 19-0 win in their opening game of the Western B Divisional in Florence. Natalie Dulac had four RBIs and so did Byrne in the game.
The Lady Falcons’ second game was against Mission-Arlee-Charlo. The defending state champions topped the team from up north, 13-1. Dulac had six more RBIs and doubled in each of her four at bats.
With the win over MAC, Florence moved into the undefeated game against Eureka. Byrne was in the circle and allowed only two runs in the 22-2 win. Byrne also had a home run and knocked in four runners. Dulac also had four RBIs and had three hits. Maddy Lippy added three more RBIs.
Eureka then had to play Plains in the third place game. The winner, Eureka, advanced to play Florence in the championship game while Plains finished in third place.
Brianna Hoffman allowed only two hits in the 13-1 championship game. Dulac and MacKenzie Little each had two hits and two RBIs. Danara Greer had three hits and brought in three runners.
Florence, the defending state champions, will open the Class B/C State softball tournament in Belgrade on Thursday at 10am. They will play Cut Bank, the No. 4 team from the Eastern B division.
