I was pleased to read the letters that objected to Mr. Essen’s letter of the prior week. Mr. Sperry’s letter was prompted by Mr. Essen’s, as was mine and two others, four total. For that reason I approve of the Bitterroot Star’s policy of printing all of the letters it receives.
I have long regretted that Republicans are slow to fight back. I’ve heard so many justifications for not responding to the propaganda waged by the left. Among the excuses, politics are dirty and I won’t stoop to their level, those who say it is just too upsetting, those who say I can’t do anything about it and more. And so, when a letter like Mr. Essen’s can bring out the comment shown on page 4 of the Bitterroot Star dated July 19, that can only be good.
There are more of us (Republican or Conservative) than is evident because we don’t demonstrate, riot, etc. What’s that old saying, “the squeaky wheel gets the grease.” And so, kudos to Mr. Essen for eliciting this response from four concerned citizens.
