I am the son of German immigrants who left Germany for America in 1929. The economic situation in Germany at the time was catastrophic. They came separately from Germany and met in New York City in the early thirties.
New York had a great socialistic public education system that I benefited from. I suppose that you did not benefit from a socialistic education system and went to private schools and went on to Harvard for a college degree. I went to the very socialistic City College of New York (CCNY). Because I worked hard in the socialistic NYC education system and had a High School average of 85% or higher in all course work I was entitled to 2 ½ years of free education; all I had to pay was $11.00 student fee per semester and I had to pay for textbooks. I did finish the last two years of my education at a church supported school with a very good chemistry program.
I spent 37 years at the company I worked for after serving three years in the US Army Chemical Corps. Of my 37 years at the company, 30 were in management.
I suppose you never used public education and never drove on roads built by government funds. Of course you didn’t, that would be taking advantage of socialism. You of course were never protected by a government supported police force or fire department. You of course refused to collect SOCIAL Security or Medicare when you retired. I will admit I’ve gotten more benefit from a Socialistic USA than you because you are 75 and I am 78. You also need to stop listening to FOX Not News and Breitbart Not News.
Obama had an easy time because his skin is black and you had a tough time because your skin is white. By the way, Colin Powell, whose parents were immigrants, graduated from socialistic CCNY where he got a commission in the US Army because he was in ROTC. Oh yes, I suppose you served in the military.

Thank you Carl for taking on the gratuitous, self-righteous Sonny LaSalle rant. Sonny failed to mention he received taxpayer/ government funded salary for many years with the USFS and now has a taxpayer/government funded retirement as well as, presumably, taxpayer subsidized health insurance. He did prove to be a job creator though as the legacy of taxpayer funded terraced hillsides on our public forests that he helped with will provide restoration jobs at taxpayer expense far into the future.
