Bob Brown, I had to chuckle when I read your letter to the Star (09/21/16) endorsing Hillary Clinton! Ironically, the first time I crossed over to vote for a Democrat was the 2004 Montana Gubernatorial race between you and Brian Schweitzer.
I had my reasons – first and foremost, Schweitzer had a better plan to restore the timber industry and jobs. He wasn’t successful, but he turned out to be a pretty fair Governor.
I guess the damage was already done by then. Between (then Governor) Marc Racicot and our State Senate and Legislature, we were void of the leadership that was required for the time. You were Senate President in the mid-nineties. When the working people of Montana needed courage and leadership, they received none.
Instead, it was politics as usual. There was not enough push-back against Bill Clinton’s NAFTA and green groups running our public lands. You failed us Montanans.
I guess with RINOS like you, it makes sense to endorse establishment politicians such as Hillary Clinton, who is most likely the best criminal mind America has seen since the Al Capone era.
Bob, I believe you are legacy motivated, that is, you would like to be remembered in the same breath as Mike Mansfield and Jean Turnage. Maybe a wing or building at one of our universities could be in your name, or a foundation raised in your honor.
Personally, I hope not. The joke is over, and I am done laughing.
Voters: please pay attention! Vote for conservative values. Vote for Coal. Vote for our economy. Vote for Greg Gianforte and Donald Trump. Or, don’t vote at all.
