Something smelled when I was digging our first potatoes. And sure enough, there it was, dog poop right next to where I was digging.
We have home-made deer fences up all around our back yard on South Third Street.
Maybe a dog passed through before I finished them a few weeks ago. But still.
We use “humanure” on our garden — free compost/mulch from the Hamilton Waste Water Treatment Plant, which is thoroughly processed and tested and is regularly rated A by the Environmental Protection Agency. The plants love it, so we do too. And it
doesn’t smell.
But pet poop is not the same. Aren’t you glad not to come across it where you don’t
want it? Please help me and others avoid it too, by keeping your dogs on a leash
around other people and their homes and cleaning up after them if necessary.
Please? And thank you.
