Florence will advance five boys and two girls to the state Class B track meet in Bozeman this weekend as a result of their placings at the Western B Divisional this past weekend in Missoula. Marcus Zeiler won the 800 with a time of 2:03.23. (Zeiler has already qualified in the triple jump.) Dean Klakken took second in the 400. The 400-relay team finished fourth and the 1,600-relay team finished sixth. Bridger Dragoo took sixth in the discus. Caden Venters was six inches shy of first in the javelin with a throw of 162’. Conner Thorne was third in the high jump, clearing the bar at 6’.
Autumn Round took fourth in the 400-meter race and second in the triple jump with a leap of 34’4”. Alexis Taulbee was third in the 100 hurdles and sixth in the 300 hurdles. The 1,600-relay team finished fifth.
Darby’s Evan Duggan won both the 1,600 and the 3,200-meter races. His time of 4:28 in the 1,600 was 12 seconds faster than second place. His time of 10:21.49 was 10 seconds faster than second place. John Beckers was second in the javelin. Ky McCollaum finished 5th in both the 110 hurdles and the 300 hurdles. Casey Ehmann took sixth in the girls’ 300 hurdles. Victor’s Jack Powell took third in the 110 hurdles. The 4×100 relay team finished third. The Class C state track meet will be in Missoula at Big Sky High School.
