Lutheran fellowship
Our Savior Lutheran Church, Stevensville, welcomes all everyone to a Thanksgiving Eve fellowship and worship opportunity on Wednesday, November 25. Starting at 6 p.m., all will gather for a soup and sandwich supper. This allows working families time to eat in peace and avoid that post-work rush that scuttles evening plans. There is no need to contribute toward the meal. The ladies of the congregation supply the food. So eat, relax and make new friends prior to the service. At 7 p.m. join in worshipping Our Father in thankfulness and praise for His good gifts. Our Savior is affiliated with the Lutheran Church––Missouri Synod. About one mile south the Burnt Fork Market on the Eastside highway, turn east on Pine Hollow and proceed to #184. Cross the tracks and the canal, and the church will be on your left, marked by three crosses. Call the church office on weekday mornings at 777-5625 for more information.

Free Thanksgiving meal
Grace Lutheran Church in Hamilton will be serving a free Thanksgiving meal on Thursday, November 26 meal from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, November 26. All are welcome! Unable to get out? Have a meal delivered to your Hamilton area home by calling the church office at (406) 363-1924. The church is located at 275 Hattie Lane, Hamilton (just off of Marcus Street, between Daly Ave. and Kurtz Lane).
Friday, November 27
Downtown Hamilton holiday kickoff
Bring the family to downtown Hamilton for a weekend of traditional activities and fun for all ages, courtesy of the Hamilton Downtown Association. On Friday evening, November 27, stores will have extended hours, 5 to 8 p.m. The Montana A Capella Society will be caroling downtown, with warming barrels on the corners where kids can toast their own marshmallows for free s’mores. The Tree Lighting will take place at 6 p.m. Friday, on the south lawn of the Hamilton Post Office, and Santa Claus will arrive immediately thereafter, to listen to kids’ holiday wish lists, and pose for photos. Santa will also have free candy canes for the kids.
Saturday is Small Business Saturday. Shop Hamilton’s unique small businesses for in-store specials, and take the kids for free, horse-drawn trolley rides downtown from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. “Santa Paws” will be under the awning at Bell-McCall for photos with pets, and Big Creek Coffee will be donating all coffee beverage sales to the Bitterroot Land Trust.
Eagles Taco Night
Tacos and more will be served Friday, November 27 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Eagles Lodge, 125 N. 2nd, Hamilton. The public is invited.
Saturday, November 28
Square dance club
Boots ‘n’ Calico Square Dance Club will hold a dance on Saturday, November 28 at the Golden Age Hall, 727 S. 5th Street in Hamilton. Barry Bartlette will do the calling with round dancing from 7 to 7:30 p.m. followed by a mainstream dance from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. with plus tips. All square dancers are welcome. Come out and see if square dancing might be for you. It’s free!

Center for Spiritual Living
The Center for Spiritual Living hosts a video and community discussion about Everyday Gratitude on Sunday, November 29 at 10 a.m. Join in for a morning of great music, sharing, and inspiration as CSL continues a month of practicing gratitude. Attendees will decorate the Center after Sunday Service. This is also Potluck Sunday. Bring your favorite dish to share at 11:30. Lutheran Advent activities
Our Savior Lutheran Church, Stevensville, wants to share the spiritual treasures of the first season of the new church year, Advent, which begins Sunday, November 29. Advent, or The Coming, is a time of spiritual preparation, for making hearts ready for the gift of the Christ Child. Wednesday evenings, December 2-23, offer the perfect way to pause from the hectic holiday merry-go-round and contemplate the spiritual aspect of Christmas, the miracle of grace, the undeserved gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. The people of Our Savior are again preparing 6 p.m. soup and sandwich suppers to simplify evening worship for hard-working families. On your way home from work pick up your children and come to share a simple meal with the members of Our Savior before the service at 7 p.m. Our Savior, located at 184 Pine Hollow Road, is affiliated with the Lutheran Church––Missouri Synod. Rotary Club
A special program presented by the Hamilton High School Speech and Drama Department will be given at the next meeting of the Hamilton Rotary Club, on Monday, November 30 at 12 noon at BJ’s Restaurant, 900 N. 1st Street, Hamilton. Blue Holidays Support Group
For most people, the holidays are a joyous time, but for some they are a painful reminder of the loved ones they have lost. Beginning on Monday, November 30 and running each Monday at 3 p.m. until Christmas, there is be a Blue Holiday Support Group meeting at St Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 203 Main Street in Stevensville. Meetings will run about an hour. Facilitated by Dr. Richard Reynolds, a former chaplain, the support group is non-denominational and open to all people who are grieving today.
UFO, ET discussion
DVDs and Discussions about UFOs and ETs will take place Mondays, November 30 and December 7, 14, 21 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Bitterroot Public Library. DVDs from the International UFO Congresses will be shown and Joan Bird, author of “Montana UFOs and Extraterrestrials,” will be at will one of the events. Recorded speakers will discuss ‘our’ truth embargo and how other countries have disclosed their sightings and much more.

Sons of Norway
Bitterrootdalen Lodge, Sons of Norway will celebrate the beginning of the Christmas season on Tuesday, December 1 at 5 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 275 Hattie Lane in Hamilton. The program will highlight how Scandinavians observe the season and how members celebrated in the past, including customs and music. Members and visitors may bring a wrapped Christmas gift, for a numbered drawing, in which winners can “steal” from each other, up to three times. The Lodge will provide a main dish, drinks and service, with those attending invited to bring a side dish. For information contact Jackie Bjergo at 961-4538.
Fly Fishers of the Bitterroot
The December meeting of Fly Fishers of the Bitterroot will be Tuesday, December 1 at BJ’s Restaurant in Hamilton. Social hour is 6 to 7 p.m. with cocktails/dinner optional. Some of the club’s own members will present “tips & tricks.” Phil Romans will reveal his killer nymph rig, Jay Melzer is showing two knots for attaching flies to leader tippet, Bob Prince will offer his special streamer patterns, and others will share their secrets. Stevensville Garden Club
The Stevensville Garden Club will meet Wednesday, December 2 at 1 p.m. at the Community Baptist Church, 409 Buck St., in Stevensville. Members will be discussing and finalizing the bazaar/boutique and Christmas luncheon. After the meeting, members will be decorating up and down Main Street with swags and decorations they made.
