Stevensville Mayor Gene Mim Mack has tendered his resignation from office effective October 1, 2015. Mim Mack said that setting an effective date of October 1, it would give the Town Council six weeks to administer a smooth transition, giving them ample time to advertise, interview and appoint the best candidate to fulfill the remainder of his term.
“It has been an absolute honor to serve in this capacity for the last four years. The opportunity to serve the residents of Stevensville, the Town Council and work with the employees of the Town has been a privilege,” wrote Mim Mack. He said his reason for leaving is due to his continuing business responsibilities. He and his partner Robbie Springs own the Stevensville Hotel and a few other commercial properties in town.
“My absence from the day to day operations of our family enterprises has put the entire responsibility on Robbie, and she has done all the heavy lifting. It is time for me to again share the load,” wrote Mim Mack.
