Since you don’t see the difference between a Democracy and a Republic let me explain.
In a democracy it is ruled by a majority that can impose its will over the individual or group of individuals and they have no protection against the unlimited power of the majority. This majority’s power is absolute and unlimited, and their decisions are un-appealable and the door is now open to unlimited tyranny by this majority. This is nothing more than mob rule and leads to dictatorship and destruction of liberty. The reason is there’s no law to prevent the majority from trampling on individual rights, the majority rule. In this democracy religion has freedom, but only as long as the majority does not limit this freedom on others.
In a republic there is a representative with a written Constitution of basic rights that protect the minority from being unrepresented or overridden by the majority. All citizens that are eligible get equal say in decisions with protection of unalienable rights to individuals. Religious freedom is permitted and the Constitution prohibits interfering with freedom of religion. The purpose of a republic is to control and primarily to protect the individual’s God given unalienable rights for the protection of the minority. It is a constitutionally limited government of representative type created by a written constitution adopted by the people derived through election by people to represent them. The attitude is toward property respect for laws and individual rights and is the administrator of justice in accord with fixed principles. Under this constitution it holds the government in check and prevents the majority from violating rights of the individual. Supreme power resides in the citizens entitled to vote.
I hope this educates you in the BIG difference between democracy and republic which you did not seem to understand. Remember the pledge of allegiance to the flag? It states “to the republic for which it stands.”
