Recently, I was walking a dog along the street in Hamilton, and saw a kid approach on a bicycle, so I gave him the sidewalk to ride right by. I said something like “there you go, kiddo” to him as he rode by. The kid just glared at me and kept going. Usually, I mumble to myself “ok, be that way” but on this occasion, I kept going. A little later, as I was picking up the dog’s poop (with a bag), here came the kid again, only this time with a friend. I confronted the kid on his rudeness and as he rode off shouted a word at him, that I’m not proud of. There was someone walking along there, who turned around suddenly, having heard me.
I’m not sorry that I confronted the (rude) kid on the bike (all you folks moving here may want to consider that), but I am sorry for shouting out something that wasn’t all that nice, and catching that person’s attention. So I wish them both well. My apologies to both, and here’s hoping that you both have a great day.
