The Corvallis and Hamilton high school cross country teams opened their season in Billings at the Billings Invitational on Friday, August 28. This was a huge meet as over 60 regional high schools participated, including 259 varsity boys runners and 249 varsity girls runners. Needless to say, this event had some high-level competition.
In the team standings, the Hamilton girls took 11th place, the Corvallis boys took 13th place, and the Corvallis girls took 16th place.
Corvallis
For the Corvallis boys, Jeremy Davidson finished 23rd (16:50.87), Braden Anderson took 50th (17:23.09), Soren Watt took 84th (18:08.28), and Nick Venema took 124th (19:07.15).
For the Corvallis girls, Cheyenne Herbert took 81st (21:45.83), Ellie Berger took 82nd (21:48.12), Natalie Huls took 86th (21:57.20), and Vanessa Wissenbach took 121st (22:58.57).
Hamilton
For the Hamilton girls, Aleigha Child finished 9th (18:55.76), Reecelyn Walthall took 19th (19:29.07), Maevie Child took 106th (22:30.89), and Mazie Torres took 124th (23:01.59).
For the Hamilton boys, Benjamin Beare took 51st (17:25.22), Orion Tison took 177th (20:25.55), and Kennie Cords took 199th (21:01.20).
