Wendy Joy Stevens (Hallford), age 77, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2026, in Stevensville, Montana. Born on October 19, 1948, in Missoula, Montana, Wendy lived a life rooted in her Montana heritage and dedicated to her family and community.
Wendy spent much of her career as a waitress, working at various establishments throughout the Missoula area and the Bitterroot Valley. Her work brought her into contact with countless people over the years, and she was known for her helpful and giving nature. Wendy’s kindness and generosity left a lasting impression on those who had the pleasure of knowing her.

In her personal life, Wendy found joy in tending to her flower gardens, where she cultivated beauty and tranquility. She also loved playing Farkle, a game that brought laughter and cherished moments with family and friends.
Wendy is survived by her son Faron Stevens (Jill), her “adopted” daughter Lora Johnston (Carl), granddaughter Jessica Hals (Travis), great- grandchildren Rhyland, Kinsley, and Holter, sisters Carole Wall, Kathy Barker, and Melody Loop. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who will remember her fondly.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Frank; her parents Ella and Vernon Hallford; her brother Doug Hallford; sister Verna Weber; and grandson Josh Stevens. Their memories remain intertwined with hers as part of a legacy of love and connection.
Wendy’s warmth and generosity touched many lives. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her.
The family would like to thank those special people who helped with her care the last few months. Niece Renee and also Big Sky Hospice, with their help she was able to spend her last months at home.
