As the primary election approaches, can we expect some relief from the vitriolic campaign garbage in OUR mailboxes paid for by far away from Montana money??? At least on my phone or tablet I can block those intrusions that annoy me. Probably wishful thinking.
What I hope is not wishful thinking is that those who emerge from these contentious primaries, will move on to the November election with the firm conviction to, if elected, vote their conscience but NOT in lock step with party ideology but with a genuine commitment and consideration to serve ALL their constituents; those who voted for them and those who did not.
I can say, without hesitation, I have no need to impose my “ideology” or my religious convictions on anybody else and I expect no one, particularly anyone who has chosen an elected office in public service, to impose theirs on me.
The phraseology…….”and with liberty and justice for all”, means just that, not only for those who see IT my way, or yours.
Here’s to an empty mail box and civility in governance.
