Support for Venezuela operation

January 13, 2026 by Guest Post 3 Comments

by Jerry Esmay, Stevensville

I write this in support of the recent operation to capture Venezuela President Maduro and his wife.

This operation removed one of the most corrupt and evil dictators in my lifetime. He has been instrumental in basically ruining a beautiful country. Additionally, he has been instrumental in directing the flow of illegal drugs into our country. As I have pointed out previously, these drugs have been killing more of our citizens EACH YEAR than were killed in our past wars such as Vietnam.

We finally have a President who has taken direct actions to stop this illegal poison from flowing into our country. President Trump has given the leaders of these countries more than adequate warning that the United States will no longer tolerate this direct terror/criminal activity. I find it totally un-American for the Democrats/Liberals claiming that the President’s decision is criminal in nature and to be calling for impeaching of the President! It has become very clear that no matter what Trump does, these folks will be against it – this has taken on the term, “Trump Derangement Syndrome.” Wouldn’t it be refreshing if instead of always opposing everything the President does that the Democrats counter with how they have a better approach?

I remain greatly concerned over the election of a Socialist/Communist Mayor in New York. In his inauguration speech, Mamdani called for a reduction in individualism and an increase in collectivism. Have you really thought through what that means? In my opinion, that says you must give up some of your individual freedoms for more government involvement and control. I also noted that this past weekend, demonstrators were shown in Missoula protesting President Trump’s capture of Maduro, and that one of them carried a sign saying “Democratic Socialist Party of Montana.”

We better wake up!

We now know that Trump’s drug war against V was a farce, it was all about oil and taking the Maduro out. Here are the bigger problems, Maduro’s administration has been running the drug and oil operations in V for years, many V citizens have said “they didn’t get head of the snake, Rondon” he’s the Interior Minister and runs the brutal prison system and oppressive police force. His Defense Minister Padrino, while more neutral also has illegally profited from their oil industry which accounts for less than 1% of crude globally. Maduro’s tyrannical administration is still fully in charge and will now be very difficult to remove. Oil execs have stated great hesitancy to invest in their oil as it will take billions of $$ and up to a decade to rebuild their dilapidated industry for their oil which is like molasses and is very costly to refine. Trump fragile ego was bruised when Canada said “get lost” so now he’s onto Greenland. Chaos reigns again in his administration again but, he stated “he loves chaos.”

Maybe you should listen to Marco Rubio’s response when he was asked the same ridiculous question about taking out everybody else on the Sunday Morning shows. Venezuela saw what we can do, and how inept they are at defending themselves, much like Saddam Hussein was. the doesn’t happen overnight but the precedent has been set and Venezuela is terrified.
Canada is the one trembling. Their economy is in a free fall, Alberta is trying to split off, their government’s popularity is falling fast, and they now are trying to buddy up to China… that’s a grand plan!.
China and Russia have been positioning themselves in Greenland for years, the last administration was just to stupid to do anything about it.

“It has become very clear that no matter what Trump does, these folks will be against it..”

It has also become very clear that no matter what Trump does, you will be for it. That is extremely dangerous. O system of government requires that our elected officials are held accountable by us, the citizens. That means every action requires scrutiny and potentially criticism. But you elected a “man” that falls to pieces and demands vengeance at the slightest hint of criticism. Consequently, you are forced to contort yourself and your so called principles into accepting anything he does as good.

Venezuela has never been a significant source of illegal drugs coming into the US. It has definitely never been a source of fentanyl or other opiates. The drug story was always a farce. Now we’ll probably have to hand billions to oil companies to convince them to go there a drill for oil they neither want nor need. This is a national disgrace.
