No to Trump

June 11, 2024 by Guest Post

by Thomas Tunny, Hamilton

How can free thinking Republicans continue to support a twice convicted rapist (the judge in the case says that what the jury found Trump did was in fact rape, as commonly understood), a convicted felon, and a twice impeached president? In addition, he is an indicted conspirator to overthrow the government of the United States on January 6, 2021, and he is charged with stealing valuable secret documents, including nuclear secrets, from the White House when he left, without even attending, for the first time in our country’s history, the inauguration of his successor, Joe Biden!

This week, we celebrated D-Day in Europe, where so many American and Allied troops lost their lives in defense of freedom and democracy. President Ronald Reagan denounced isolationism and strongly supported the position of an integrated NATO.

Where have all the Reaganites gone?

I am not a Republican, but I strongly support Reagan’s position in our need to rally around our allies against threats from Russia or any other country interested in attacking countries that only want to live in peace and harmony with their neighbors.

Former President Trump rejects this position. Our European allies are very much afraid of what will happen to NATO if Trump is elected.

This is but one reason, among many, that we must reject former President Trump. You might not like President Biden or his policies, but his primary policy is to preserve democracy at home and abroad. I ask you not to vote for Mr. Trump!

    You really need to go back to elementary skool and get a better indoktrination of what conviction means and how there is a difference between Civil and Criminal. You show the reason that publik indoktrination is and has been a failure for 40 plus years.

    Helen, of course I can’t speak for Gomez, nor would I presume to, but I suspect a reasonable person like him wants nothing to do with a sick person who wants to plant “step-on bombs” to murder innocent people.

    First off. Trump was never convicted of rape. That’s Russian disinformation.
    Second… impeached? On what charges? A document since proven by the FBI to be bought and paid for Clinton disinformation that she categorized as campaign finance and was fined $8,000? Meanwhile Trump gets 34 felonies for campaign finance accounting errors? Yeah, that’s fair.
    Potato Brain Biden embarrassed the entire country in Normandy desecrating the honor of Brave young men like my uncle, who stormed those beaches, to make a political speech and lie about his opponent. Then had to be helped by the Italian PM from getting lost because he has no clue where he is all of the time.

      Cav;

      “The finding that Ms. Carroll failed to prove that she was ‘raped’ within the meaning of the New York Penal Law does not mean that she failed to prove that Mr. Trump ‘raped’ her as many people commonly understand the word ‘rape,’ ” Judge Kaplan wrote.

      In other words, yes, by the definition of the law, it was not technically rape. But for all intents and purposes, if you were trying on a pair of pants in a local store, and some dude snuck into the changing booth and forced a finger up your ass, what would you call it?

      Helen. Do you believe that Donald Trump is a well read, intelligent, mentally balanced, honest individual whose number one concern is what is best for the American people?

Even though we have agreed maybe twice you usually sometimes use common sense.

          Helen. If you truly believe that Donald Trump is intelligent, mentally well & is a selfless, honest man than we have nothing to talk about, seriously. You are too far gone.
