Florence
The Florence boys and girls basketball teams hosted Arlee on Tuesday, January 30th. In the boys game, the Falcons lost 45-68 to the #5 Warriors.
In the girls game, the Falcons jumped out to a massive 34-2 first quarter lead. They were up 44-8 at halftime and won 64-16. A bunch of girls scored for Florence, Kendyl Meinhold led with 14 points, Kenzy Pickering had 12, Emory Ralston had 11, Taylor Pyette had 9, Madigan Hurlburt and Olivia Coulter each had 4, and Shelby Crocker, Lexi Danczyk, Taryn Appelhans and Heidi Lambson each added 2.
Then on Thursday, Feb. 1st, both teams hosted Deer Lodge.
The girls won 58-37 behind a big second quarter where they outscored the Lady Wardens 16-2. For Florence, Kenzy Pickering had a huge game with 24 points, Madigan Hurlburt had 8, Kendyl Meinhold and Shelby Crocker each had 6, Emory Ralston had 5, Taryn Appelhans had 4, Heidi Lambson had 3, and Lexi Danczyk added 2.
In the boys game, Florence was down 23-29 at halftime, then came soaring back in the second half to earn the 59-46 victory. For Florence, Bridger Alexander led with 15 points, Brody Duchien had 12, Quintan Monaco had 9, Tyler Abbott 8, Jake Schneiter and Mason Arlington each had 6, and Trapper Oster added 3.
Darby
On Friday, Feb. 2nd, the Darby girls hosted Anaconda, and the Lady Tigers lost 28-61 to the #7 Lady Copperheads. For Darby, Sierra Reed had a strong game with 16 points, Kimmie Berry had 6, Hadley Heiland had 3, and Georgia Fisher added 1.
On Saturday, Feb. 3rd, the Darby boys hosted Deer Lodge and the young Tigers roared out of the gates and led 17-8 after the first quarter. They then went cold and were outscored 2-12 in the next frame to trail 19-20 at halftime. But it was all Deer Lodge in the second half and Darby lost 39-53.
For Darby, Leif Nelson led the scoring with 14 points, McCoy Townsend had 13, Payton Ehmann had 4, Brad Reasor had 3, Braydon Lundgren and Jordan Browning each had 2, and Ben Martin added 1.
Victor
The Victor boys and girls went to Lincoln on Saturday, Feb. 3rd. In the boys game, the Pirates struggled against the undefeated #8 Linx, and lost 26-70. For Victor, Josiah Berk had a solid game with 14 points, Russell Drewien had 6, Alec Rowlan had 3, Henrique Nunes had 2, and Price Johnson added 1.
The Victor girls fell 22-69 to the Lady Lynx.
