Immigration chickens

February 6, 2024 by Guest Post

by Archie L Thomas  & Merry Schrumpf, Corvallis

Immigration chickens have landed in Montana. Senator Daines, Representatives Rosendale and Zinke, Governor Gianforte and Senate Candidate Sheehy are among this Republican flock. This fowl group claim only Trump can solve immigration and fentanyl smuggling while blocking proposed legislation to advance effective bipartisan border legislation. One adult farmer from Big Sandy realizes chickens when he sees them. Senator Jon Tester (D-MT) told Sahil Kapur and Frank Thorp V of NBC News, “I think it’s crap…. We need to get that deal done to secure the border. If they want to keep it as a campaign issue, I think they need to resign from the damn Senate.”  https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/congress/immoral-republicans-rebuke-efforts-kill-immigration-deal-help-trump-rcna135732?utm_source=substack&utm_medium=email. Enough said.

Lmao. We have all the existing law on the books to end illegal immigration, nothing but parlor games and a complete garbage bill, an Tester knows it. It requires virtually no research to discover this.

Wrong, Alan. 1952 law, still in force, makes it legal for undocumented foreigners to enter the US to ask for asylum. Republicans denying the bill prevents funds and personnel from being earmarked to deal with the recent surge. Don’t like it? Change the law. Which Republicans just refused to do.

Wayne this is nonsense and you know it. Simply trying to write a bad bill and that you know the opposition will reject so you can try and blame them for the problem is just politics. Americans are smarter then that, so are you. You’re not even trying here.

Impeach all Republicans for failing to fix the border.

Impeach all Democrats for allowing it to get broken in the first place.

Well Alan, looks like the Republican led House is listening to you and took an impeachment vote yesterday. How’d that go? Don’t worry, things will get back to order when Donny gets re-elected with total immunity. Oops. The GOP clown car is headed for a cliff. Meanwhile back in the Kremlin, Putin is getting nervous about his Orange puppet going to The Big House rather than the White House.

Impeachment vote? Well it went the way it should have, if you are referring to Mayorkas. There is a second vote scheduled for Tuesday, but frankly, accusing him of high crimes and misdemeanors doesn’t rise to the level of impeachment absent of conviction for those allegations. As for the rest of your response I’m not interested in hyperbole and rhetoric. In summation, the Republicans are wasting time and playing political games with the Mayorkas impeachment, he should, however, be fired for gross incompetence,

First, “Americans” are not smarter than that….Trump. Second, please enlighten us as to why any republican should consider H. R. 815 to be a “garbage bill”. The senate democrats compromised away most all their wishes for the conservative Lankford bill.
Third, the border/asylum issue goes back decades across many administrations. To blame it solely on one party is just plain ignorant with all the history and information so readily available….barring conspiracy rabbit holes. Would you be fine with a democratic administration if they got Mexico to pay for a wall?
Fourth, “ I’m not interested in hyperbole and rhetoric”, ok but “Impeach all Democrats”. Which is it?
