It’s troubling that Sen. Daines keeps pushing legislation to strip protection from wilderness study areas. Only 6% of Montanans support his efforts, but the senator keeps resolutely ignoring Montanans in favor of his own unpopular agenda.
Several years ago, Daines promised the Montana State Legislature he’d support honest and open collaboration to decide the future of these areas, but he hasn’t followed through on this commitment. It’s incredibly disappointing.
With a national election ahead and divisive politics distracting our nation, this is one issue we can agree on, no one, especially a state senator, gets to release 100,000 acres of protected public lands loved and used by hunters, fishermen, and recreationists in Montana without public open, scheduled, and unscripted meetings. Special interests are not going to decide the future of this land
Are you listening Mr. Daines?
