It is difficult to comprehend and admit to oneself that our government is leading us morally astray and our federal government is intentionally dishonest and deceitful.
Our federal government requires all citizens to tell the truth to Federal agencies; here is a quote from the Congressional Research Service: “Federal courts, Congress and federal agencies rely upon truthful information in order to make informed decisions. Federal law therefore prescribes (forbids by law) providing the federal courts, Congress, or federal agencies with false information.” (18 U.SC. 1001)
Our federal government created a law that forces citizens to tell the truth to the government. However, there is no law prohibiting the government from lying to its citizens. If a citizen lies to the government they can be fined or imprisoned or worse, but if a president, congressman or other official lies to you or me, there is no fine or punishment.
In fact, if a citizen even reports a government lie, they can be prosecuted and imprisoned. Look at Edward Snowden, Daniel Ellsberg, Chelsea Manning or Julian Assange. In other words, the truth is whatever the government dictates and truth and honesty has become a crime unless you work for the government.
Liberty and justice to all is meaningless and government lies are immoral and unethical. If the current government refuses to outlaw its own lies, it is admitting that we are an immoral, unjust, corrupt and debauched nation unfit to govern itself or the people.
How can citizens make informed and accurate decisions if we are not told the truth? Every citizen should demand that our government create laws to curtail its own lies and to tell the truth to those they are paid to serve.

Can someone say who made the 30,000 false claims statement?
Gomez says
The sure sign that someone has lost an argument is that they attempt to change the topic, rather than answer the question at hand.
Mike Miller says
You sure hit that nail on the head!
My original question of “For the sake of “equity and inclusion”, how many false or misleading statements has Biden made since he’s been in office?” on 1-12-24 has yet be answered.
Gome says
You really want a number, don’t you? OK, here you go;
“The total number of Biden false claims so far is in the dozens,”
Source. CNN August 2022.
Dozens vs tens of thousands by Trump..
If you have a source to dispute the number of Biden’s falsehoods, this is your last chance. Thanks for playing.
Gomez says
Howard S. Agreed.
“The fact checks in the database amount to about 5 million words and many include links to sources that debunk Trump’s statements.
The Trump claims database was nominated by the Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute at New York University for inclusion in a list of the Top Ten Works of Journalism of the Decade. “The project is a sterling example of what journalists should do — holding the powerful accountable by using reporting and facts,”
It’s research is a far way removed from a meme shared by Tucker Carlson, Steve Bannon or some other right wing grifter.
Dale says
When Trump has five answers for one question I’m pretty sure at least four are lies! You still have the trolls on here looking like fools.

Equally culpable in my view is the MSM. It’s hard to believe that in 2024 anybody, boomers aside, follows the propaganda rubbish churned out by the likes of Reuters, CNN, Fox, etc etc. So bad has it gotten, that one must actually research and work to find nuggets of truth. The Covid nonsense is the perfect example of propagandist MSM and government lies.

Trump made over 30,000 false or misleading statements while in office
Mike Miller says
For the sake of “equity and inclusion”, how many false or misleading statements has Biden made since he’s been in office? Remember, he’s been in office since 1972.
Gomez says
Please, do tell, how many false or misleading statements has Joe Biden made in the last 50 years? Please be specific, and provide links to credible fact checking sources. Thanks in advance.
Mike Miller says
I’ll consider doing that once you, Howard, or someone else is “specific, and provide links to credible fact checking sources” regarding the alleged “over 30,000 false statements Trump made while in office” since that was the subject of the original comment.
Meanwhile, your deflection and lack of inclusion/equity is duly noted.

#1 of 30,000………..STOLEN ELECTION

Here you go;

And before attempt to discredit the Post, they’ve won over 50 Pulitzers in their 100+ year history. I’d trust them over any meme shared by Steve Bannon or Tucker.

Mike. I have submitted a comment that is awaiting Admin. Moderator approval. It has the links that you asked for. The source has won 68 Pulitzer Prizes for journalism.
Mike Miller says
Gomez, noted and thanks.
Howard S. says
I posted a reply with a link to the source a few days ago, but it still hasn’t shown up here.
I’m sure Mike will dismiss whatever source I cite. You can just google “Trumps 30,000 lies as president” and an actual newspaper article (remember those?) will be one of the top hits.
Mike Miller says
My original question has still not been answered.
“For the sake of “equity and inclusion”, how many false or misleading statements has Biden made since he’s been in office? Remember, he’s been in office since 1972.”
Gomez says
Again, you tell us.
If you are unable to reply with substantial, credible numbers from reliable sources, we’re all going to have to assume that you were unable to come up with any. I’m not even sure why you’d bring it up. And to be fair, I’m sure that in Biden’s long career that he has lied or fudged the truth occasionally, just like most politicians and frankly, just like most people. But to compare it to the firehouse of shite that Trump spews daily isn’t really comparing like objects, is it?
Mike Miller says
Seems as though my original comment of “For the sake of “equity and inclusion”, how many false or misleading statements has Biden made since he’s been in office? Remember, he’s been in office since 1972.” hasn’t (and probably won’t) be answered.
I never said one thing about Trump in any way in that comment.
If you are unable to reply with substantial, credible numbers from reliable sources, I’m going to presume that you were unable to come up with any.
Gomez says
“I never said one thing about Trump in any way in that comment.”
You didn’t have to. You were clearly attempting a bit of “whataboutism?”
Mike Miller says
LOL! The irony is rich with you: “whataboutisms” is what DEI is all about.
It seems your “diversity” is only good as long it’s going the way you want it to, which certainly doesn’t seem “inclusive”.
