Bizarre news

October 15, 2023 by Guest Post

by Jerry Esmay, Stevensville

Just when you thought you had heard the most bizarre news items from our capital, along come new ones. What do you think about these?

The Senate changed their dress code to allow Senator John Fetterman, D-PA, to be in the Senate Chamber in shorts and a hooded sweatshirt. How did a wannabe hoodlum get elected to office? Who has any confidence in his ability to be an effective senator? Oh, the Senate did later vote to restore appropriate business attire.

“The border is secure.” At least that’s what the Biden administration continues to tell us. Well, if you have bothered to switch over to Fox News to find out what’s really going on, you would see that just the opposite is actually the case. Now even governors and mayors of “blue” states and cities are complaining about the refugee hoard and associated homelessness. Over 6 million illegal aliens and hundreds of thousands of “got-aways” have entered our country since Biden took office.

How about the “flash mobs of looters” trashing stores in some cities? Folks, we cannot allow this kind of behavior to continue as it is basically destroying the civil fabric of our society. Even if some of these people get arrested, they are back on the street the next day. This has to be stopped.

The Biden administration just paid ransom to Iran for the release of American prisoners. History is well documented with reasons for not doing this as it is just an incentive for more citizens to be captured. Oh, I guess Iran did promise not to use any of that money for terrorism; anyone actually believe that?

As I write this, we have a major automobile strike underway. The other day, President Biden joined the picket line. Obviously, a political move to buy votes as I believe the President is supposed to be acting as an arbitrator between the corporations and the unions to get the strike ended. Sickening!

The Democrats continue to harass former President Trump through both civil and criminal charges while the Bidens are portrayed as angels. Again, if you have checked out Fox News, you would see that contrary to what is being stated by the Biden administration concerning “no one should be above the law,” this is not being enforced against the Bidens.

A Democratic senator was arrested on the charge of bribery because gold bars and lots of cash was found in his home. There is some evidence just coming out that he might have been set-up by his own party.

And then there’s the senator who pulled the fire alarm during the recent budget voting. He has some weak excuses about being confused but I say he should be barred from the Senate.

Finally, did you hear that Governor Newsom has appointed a black lesbian to fill the vacant Senator Feinstein seat? Obviously, equity and inclusion and other “woke” criteria are at work here. The thing that bothers me the most is that his selection doesn’t even live in California!

On a more positive note, the American Legion Auxiliary is asking that we participate in the recognition/observance of Agent Orange Month. October is when we should not forget those who have been affected by or lost the battle with Agent Orange from the Vietnam days. If you know of someone that is a victim, please reach out and see if there is anything you can do to provide support for them. Often, something as simple as just listening and letting them unload what is bothering them or sharing their memories with someone is ample assistance. Also, changing your porch light to orange is another way to spread your concern.

“The thing that bothers me the most is that his selection doesn’t even live in California!”

Why does it bother you? You don’t live in CA. either.
