Another rant, but not about politics; about spelling. In your story about the Daly Days, under the picture, you refer to the Weiner Dog Race. Do you recall the line from your teacher in grade school: “I before E, except after C”? Interestingly, this also applies, in this particular instance, to German. Wien is the capital of Austria (Vienna in English). Wiener means Viennese. Weiner, on the other hand, means weeper. In the German speaking part of the world these dogs are called Dachshund, badger dog in English; not Wieners. They were bred to crawl into badger burrows to chase them out of the ground. Why? No idea.
