Rep. Rusk doing great job

July 25, 2023 by Guest Post

by Carolyn Hall, Columbia Falls

I am a proud Montanan, and would like to recognize Rep. Wayne Rusk of Corvallis has done a great job for Montana. He has consistently defended our property rights and protected kids, and I believe has almost always voted the way most Montanans feel because he can’t be bought by special interests. Why? Because he is a Constitutional Conservative who in his own words, believes that both the US and Montana state Constitutions are “works of art.” Conservatives know that adhering to the words of the constitution guarantees our liberty and prosperity. That means actually understanding what the Montana Constitution actually says and how it applies to government. Wayne Rusk actually knows what he is talking about and bases his decisions on the public trust. He has supported child protection (including protecting the right to life of unborn babies), sensible housing zoning laws, and fiscal responsibility. He has also opposed unnecessary changes to the Montana Constitution pushed forward by short-sighted special interests. The far Left wants to ignore the Constitution or change the meanings of its words, and the far (so-called) Right wants to take it apart or add in whatever suits their immediate political interests. Rusk defends and upholds the Constitution like a real conservative with rock solid conservative values that made America and the state of Montana great. Of course, that’s what most Montanans really want. Good to see an elected official actually deliver.

I have to reply to this letter, we are talking about the same WAYNE RUSK I believe:
    1) …can’t be bought by special interests.
How about the nearly $50,000 paid into his campaign by the COS? And he voted for the COS bills just to make sure they got their moneys worth.
    2) he’s a Constitutional Conservative.
In his own words is about it. Look at his voting record from the last session: 33% constitutional vote. Have you read the COS platform? This is the group you want to open the Constitution and make amendments.
But wait…I bet you are part of the COS group too.
