The track teams of Darby, Florence, and Victor were in Missoula on Friday, May 12th and Saturday, May 13th for Districts, Darby and Victor for 13C and Florence for 6B. All three schools excelled and many of their athletes qualified for the Western B & C Divisionals, which take place in Missoula on May 19-20.
In the team standing, Florence took 2nd in the boys and 3rd in the girls for 6B. In 13C, the Darby girls took 2nd and the boys took 4th, and the Victor boys and girls took 7th.
There were some exceptional individual performances.
For Victor, Mylia Fowler took 1st in the 100m (13.22) and 3rd in the long jump (15-03.25). Eli Jones won the high jump (5-10) and took 3rd in the triple jump (37-04).
For the Darby girls, Lily Adair had herself quite the meet; she won the 800m (2:35.78), 1600m (5:33.52), 3200m (13:25.11), and took 2nd in the 400m (1:02.44). Natalie Anderson took 2nd in the 300m hurdles (49.43), and 3rd in the 100m hurdles (17.51) and the 200m (29.21).
For the Darby boys, William Martin had an impressive meet. He took 1st in the 200m (23.61), the 110m Hurdles (15.99), and the 300m hurdles (41.56) and took 2nd in the 400m (54.19). The 4×400 relay team (McCoy Townsend, Cullen Duggan, William Martin, Peyton Ehmann) took 1st. Cullen Duggan took 3rd in the 800m, 1600m, and 3200m. Hooper Reed took 2nd in the Shot Put and 3rd in the Discus.
For the Florence boys, William Wagner was everywhere as he took 1st in the 200m (23.05) and 400m (51.19), and 2nd in the 100m (11.32) and High Jump (6-00). Kyler Harris took 1st in the 800m (2:02.72) and the 1600m (4:37.20), and took 2nd in the 3200m (10:45.94). Curtis Pijanowski won the 3200m (10:45.89). Quinn Lue won the high jump (6-00). The 4×100 relay team (Pat Duchein, Riley Reeves, Isaac Bates, William Wagner) took 1st, and the 4×400 relay team (P. Duchein, R. Reeves, I. Bates, Kyler Harris) took 1st.
For the Florence girls, Trista Williams won the shot put (33-05) and took 2nd in the discus (94-03). Sophia Stiegler won the triple jump (30-02.50). Quinn Skaggs won the javelin (112-02). The 4×400 relay team (Quinn Skaggs, Isaebel Hartsell-Miller, Aislynn Cambell, Taryn Appelhans) took 1st place.
