“The mission of a freedom caucus, Montana congressman Matt Rosendale told state lawmakers in Helena Thursday evening, can be defined by what it fights against. ‘The radical left is trying to destroy our families, they’re trying to keep us from practicing our faith, and they are trying to brainwash our children…” (Bitterroot Star, 1/25/23, front page).
Nonsense, hogwash, and balderdash. Liberal-thinking people want everyone to be able to have the family they individually need, to practice the faith that they as individuals believe in, and to encourage open minds and critical thinking in our children.
Seems to me the “freedom caucus” is fighting against individual freedom, fairness, equality and equity both, personal choice, and, in sum, any change from a straight, white, patriarchal culture such as we knew in the 1950s. They don’t represent freedom as much as fear.
History shows that change is all there is, and ultimately it’s for the better, because ultimately the human heart is kind and caring. Where that is true, we don’t have to “fight,” but to think and read and listen and discuss responsibly.

I agree with MFT – the so-called Freedom caucus is anything but about freedom. With Manzella at the head, you have extremism personified. The freedom they speak about is NOT for women who want abortion choices. I hope Rosendale wises up and gets away from this group of nutheads…..these are NOT the Montanans with common sense, not the ones who want to live and let live abut are the ones who want to tell YOU How to live! Tell the Freedom caucus to disappear!
