Just when I was planning to write a note of thanks, Richard Brodowy, you beat me to the punch.
So thank you, Richard, for prompting me from thinking about writing to actually taking the time to express my sincere thoughts.
Though I don’t fish, aside from occasionally plunking a worm into a pond or mountain lake, I too, greatly appreciate your writings, Chuck. I was especially moved upon reading your “ruminations” and “reflections” in the December 28th and January 4th editions. I copied the quote by Teddy Roosevelt onto a sticky note, “Do what you can, with what you have, where you are,” and stuck it on my fridge. I am now regularly reminded of the power of even every day small acts that can affect the world, at least the part of the world, “where I am.” I also liked your insight regarding the serenity prayer, “between serenity and wisdom is courage.”
Bless you, Chuck, you have affected my world in a good way. I’d love to hear more of your philosophical meanderings and ruminations in future issues.
