Voting in Hamilton

November 15, 2022 by Guest Post

by Mary Fahnestock-Thomas, Hamilton

I was one of the trouble-shooters at the Provisional Table during the voting at Hamilton High School on Tuesday, November 8th, and it was a sort of unexpected pleasure.

Early, early in the morning after we got set up and voters began to come in, I thought, “Why can’t we do this all by mail like they do in Washington State and some other places? Surely that would be more efficient, cheaper in the long run, and generally less of a hassle for everyone!”

One of my colleagues said she actually enjoyed the community of it all, because you got to see and even chat with all kinds of people you hadn’t seen for a long time.

By the end of the long day I was in complete agreement. I wonder if that seeming organized confusion is a uniquely American experience – or even a uniquely small-town American experience – all of us quietly and respectfully finding our way, working toward what we as individuals believe in.

Thanks for that! And thanks to our County Elections Administrator Regina Plettenberg and her crew for their reliable and steadfast set-up and follow-through!

The New York Post????? As. Reliable news source? Come on!
The ONION comes closer to the facts!

The New York Post? For reliable news? The Enquirer and the Onion come a lot closer to facts than does the Post!!!!! Gossip rag meant to entertain New Yorkers with sauce; not inform Montanans.

Helen: What is your specific question?

LAURIE – DID you read the article? Thomas stated and asked: “…Early, early in the morning after we got set up and voters began to come in, I thought, “Why can’t we do this all by mail like they do in Washington State and some other places? Surely that would be more efficient, cheaper in the long run, and generally less of a hassle for everyone!”

The link is to answer HER question. Understand?
