by Victoria Howell, Chair, North Valley Library Board of Trustees
Our local library is an essential part of our community and is committed to providing free access to information, whether through books and other printed materials, programming, or digital resources. Every member of the community is welcome to utilize all that the library has to offer.
The North Valley Public Library recently held a couple of sessions to gather public input on what the community’s needs are regarding the library. These sessions are part of a larger process of completing a Preliminary Architectural Report that is being done by MMW Architects. Once the report is completed, the board will have a better idea of the cost of building a new library as well as some possibilities for where to locate it.
The library board would like to thank everyone who participated in the public sessions. We appreciate so much that you took time out from your busy schedules to provide your perspectives.
The library is also conducting a survey to gather additional public input and there is still time to complete that. The online survey can be found at www.northvalleylibrary.org or you can pick up a hard copy at the library front desk, 208 Main, Stevensville.
The North Valley Library Board of Trustees takes very seriously its responsibility to the taxpayers of the district to spend their money wisely and to make informed decisions after careful consideration of all options. Thank you again for your interest and participation. Hopefully, together we will travel the path to a new library that will meet the needs of our community for many years to come.
