Marilyn Wolff, Stevensville Town Council member representing Ward 1, has resigned effective November 4th. Wolff told the Star that she had turned in her letter of resignation and expected it to be read into the record at the November 10th council meeting.
Wolff cited health and personal issues as her main reason for resigning. She said that the stress of the position was causing her some problems. She said she will soon be 75 years old and she thought it was time for her to focus on her own well-being.
“I take the role of council member very seriously,” said Wolff. “I study every agenda item I can. But I have to take care of myself. I’m not as young as I used to be.”
Wolff said she hoped that someone would apply to fill out her term which goes until the end of 2023. Wolff was appointed to fill a vacancy created when Jaime Devlin resigned at the end of 2021.
“I’ve done the front half,” said Wolff, “and I think I’ve done a good job. I feel good about that.”
The Town of Stevensville is currently advertising to fill the vacancy.
