On the evening of October 22, 2022, Frank passed away at St. Patricks hospital in Missoula, MT. He was 64 years old.
Frank was born on July 4,1958 in Hamilton, MT and was welcomed into the family by his parents, Clifford and Lorine Chaney, his brother John and two sisters, Kathryn and Virginia.
Victor, MT was where he called home and spent the majority of his life. Raised on the family ranch at the base of the Rocky Mountains, he enjoyed being around the many animals and beautiful scenery. His enjoyment of animals, especially wild animals, continued throughout the years. They made him laugh and he enjoyed watching their antics.
Frank liked to take pictures of those things that caught his attention. One of the many pictures he had taken, was of a beautiful Montana sunset which was entered into a photography contest. He won an award and was very happy and proud of that. Our family was very happy for him.
Growing up, he spent a lot of time in the shop working on cars with dad. Some of those skills served him well throughout his life. It was common to find him working on cars. If someone was stranded on the side of the road, he would stop and see what he could do to help. One family was so appreciative, they sent a thank you letter to the local newspaper which was then printed. They had been stranded on a mountain pass and expressed how grateful they were he had stopped, and their appreciation for his help.
Traveling around was something Frank would do every chance he got. Going to visit friends, family or just getting out and about to see someplace different.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Lorine Chaney, paternal grandparents, Frank and Adina Chaney, maternal grandparents, Jim and Beryl Bradley, brother-in-law Don Shinn, uncle Don Strickler and uncle Larry Phelps.
Frank is survived by his sister Kathryn Shinn, brother John Chaney, sister Virginia Thomas, aunt Elizabeth (Rick) Ingraham, aunt Margaret Phelps, aunt Evelyn Strickler and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Our family would like to thank all who have been a positive part of Frank’s life.
