I’ve had a hard time picking the topic for this letter. I have been considering several topics ranging from another look at the completely out of control infiltration occurring at out southern border, to reminding the readers that this is the anniversary of the Afghanistan debacle, to the Biden family influence pedaling scandal, to the recent raid on former President Trump’s Florida home (anyone really believe this is anything other than another political attempt to discredit him?), to the new bill just signed by Biden that purports to reduce inflation (includes funding for an additional 87,000 IRS agents – just think about that number), but have decided to talk about Climate Change. From the Democrats perspective, this is the number one problem we must worry about.
So, according to the “experts”, our planet is warming up at an alarming rate, caused by our burning of fossil fuels, and threatens to kill all of us if we don’t take drastic action to reduce our emissions. Well, let me address a few of the key components of this argument:
The earth’s climate is changing – maybe but maybe not. The folks arguing that the climate is changing always carefully pick their examples. There are other scientists who argue that, no, the earth’s climate is not changing or at least not at the rate being claimed.
Those arguing that the climate is changing for the worse contend that it is because of man’s use of fossil fuels that are contaminating our atmosphere. Well, I must point out that there are other natural phenomena that contaminate our atmosphere such as volcanic eruptions and sand storms.
Those arguing that the use of fossil fuels is causing our problems then want us to stop all use of these fuels and convert to electricity generated by windmills and solar arrays. Have you really taken a look at this argument? A lot of “experts” contend this is impossible because we cannot build and/or install enough of these alternatives. Oh, I must add that those pushing the elimination of fossil fuels will not even consider the building of more nuclear power plants either.
But contrary to the argument in number 3, the Democrats have us pushing for zero fossil fuel emissions in the USA by 2030 or 2035. Several years ago, we signed an agreement with China and other countries to do just that. At that time, I pointed out that China only agreed to quit building more fossil fueled power plants in that same time frame. Hmmm? I believe that China produces way more emissions than we do – somewhere I read that China & India combined produce roughly 60% of the world’s emissions while we only produce 20%.
Thus, it seems to me that we are being pushed into country/society suicide which is obviously what China and our other enemies would cheer. Personally, I will not support the Climate Change agenda unless I see that all countries are equally participating.
Oh, I didn’t even address that these alternative energy sources require materials that are rare (only found in certain locations) and require enormous amounts of energy to extract and process them. Also, windmills and solar arrays have a set life-span that then requires replacing them or repairing them. Ever considered how we will re-cycle all of these electrical components and batteries?
I’ll save the practicality of replacing all of our internal combustion power plants with electrical power for another letter.

Enough of maybe, maybe not, climate change.
View anomaly warm sea surface temperatures below the Aleutian Islands, and below Greenland.
Navigate at ClimateReanalyzer site and view anomaly hot temperatures on land masses. (click on Daily Weather to see drop down list of views. Like sea ice, and land temperatures.)
A very credible site produced by the University of Maine.

Remember….if you live in the Bitterroot you are likely standing on what was once Glacial Lake Missoula. The climate changes!

We don’t recycle them. Solar panels are buried in huge landfills along with batteries. Pollution to the extreme!
