Let us assume, for the sake of argument, that everyone has the same level of concern for our well being as humans and go from there. If we also assume that a strong belief in something cannot be changed without strong evidence to the contrary then it must hold true that opinions will vary. The problem, as I see it, stems from the idea that some people have access to information that you don’t and therefore must be right. This is an illusion but one that is welcomed by many who need reassurance that someone smart is at the helm.
I have no love for politicians; the industries that chart their course or the feeble minded who blindly follow. We live in the “Information Age” but can’t discern fact from fiction which is why we have such contempt for others who clearly have the wrong information. An argument can be made for or against anything, even an absolute, if you are convincing enough because as humans, we want to believe.
We then become pawns for the power brokers who promise they have the truth on their side and will shield you from whatever boogeyman comes down their yellow brick road; just don’t ask the Emperor any questions.
Independence is the fundamental trait of individual strength that those in power are vehemently against. Express this loud enough and you will be a target, if not, cry me a river.
