by Dominic Farrenkopf, Mayor, City of Hamilton
The City of Hamilton Volunteer Fire Department is currently fundraising for a new station that will be located in the City of Hamilton. A donation letter was sent to the public asking for donations. The letter should have been sent to addresses within the city limits only, but was inadvertently sent to every address in the 59840 Zip Code. If you are a resident of Ravalli County, and do not reside in the City of Hamilton, please know that the letter was not intended for you. We apologize for the confusion this may have caused. Thank you for understanding.

I would commend the Hamilton Mayor for setting the record straight on their fire station fundraiser, but I would urge any resident of the valley to support their Fire Department/ District of choice. We have a similar situation here in Stevensville where our Zip code covers the Town of Stevensville, the Stevensville Rural Fire District and also Three Mile Fire. We strive to make it clear in our efforts at fundraising on where the money goes. But that said the Hamilton Rural residents will benefit greatly with the new fire hall being built. In your time of need, no one really cares what is on of the side of the big red engine, only that the volunteers inside are willing and able to help. Financial support of any of our fire services helps all of us in this valley. I should disclose I am a member of Stevi Fire, and also the low electrical bid for Hamilton’s new hall.
