Texas governor Greg Abbot characterized the killer in Uvalde as ‘evil’. Every speaker at this week’s NRA convention used the word ‘evil’ in describing him. They are wrong.
The deranged 18 year old Salvador Ramos who shot and wounded his grandmother and then shot and killed 19 children and two teachers was not evil. He was mentally ill.
Universal background checks, red flag laws, ‘good guys with guns’ and every other gun violence ‘solution’ currently being considered would not have prevented this or any other school shooting. Preventing killers from easily obtaining firearms is the ONLY way to guarantee that the next potential massacre does not happen. Had this killer and all like him not been able to get their murderous hands on firearms, their rampages COULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED.
If there is evil in this world, it resides in all those who allowed Ramos and every other mass shooter to easily obtain firearms. Everyone who actively encourages the widespread distribution of firearms in this country is aiding and abetting these mass killings. They are all accessories to murder.
They are the evil.

Absolute jibberish. Once again another mass shooting in a gun free zone. We need more armed citizens and for goodness sakes get rid of these idiot gun free zones, they are a magnet to those who want to do harm. When a killer has 40 minutes to execute his mayhem, he could be just as successful with a pocket knife. The repeated call for gun control is asinine. It doesn’t work, it has never worked, and it never will work.

Agree. Well said.

And yet, I daresay, there is nary a peep from Ms. Claire or Mr. David as to the millions of babies slaughtered inside, and now outside, the womb. Evil, mass killings indeed…
