What’s your opinion?

May 24, 2022 by Guest Post

by Archie L Thomas & Merry Schrumpf, Corvallis

Isn’t it great to be heard as a voter in our American democracy? The community college was not supported by 21.5% voters and supported by 15.2% of county voters. 63.3% of eligible voters in Ravalli county did not invest in a stamp or ink to vote their ballots.May we suggest you invest in the price of a stamp and a little ink in the future?

If you are in the majority of voters that did not vote, what are your thoughts about a community college? Do these 21.5% or 15.2% of eligible voters represent your views? Are you comfortable spending or not spending local tax dollars based on the opinion of 7,427 voters out of 34,415 eligible voters?

It is not productive to castigate the non voter but rather to ask that their voice be heard. Please voice your opinion in the upcoming primary election! Just a thought!

PEOPLE, please think long and hard before you vote for the incumbent County Attorney, Bill Fulbright. Anyone who has been a victim of crime in Ravalli County, MT, surely knows the neglect Fulbright heaps on victims, while making shady (at best) plea bargain deals with the perpetrator. Case solved – Right? It sure makes his “conviction” rate look good. Who cares about the victims? Certainly NOT Bill Fulbright!
Bill Fulbright should NOT be re-elected because he does NOT protect or support the law-abiding citizens of Ravalli County. Don’t expect any justice from Bill Fulbright. Victim’s rights? Forget it with Bill Fulbright. Victims are not even given a chance to testify, since Fulbright makes “deals” without informing the victim, returns the impounded weapons without any hearing being allowed. The only way the victim finds out is the second assault attempt, with a rifle this time.
The case I am referring to involved pre-meditated attempted assault/murder, in which the RCSO did their job brilliantly, and with exceptional professionalism, the perpetrator was booked, held in jail, and indicted. The perpetrator’s mugshot and a description of the event was covered by Perry Backus for the Ravalli Republic on April 22, 2020.
Bill Fulbright is in the least, incompetent, and at worst may be corrupt in making secret plea bargains that make him look like he is doing his job. Over $300,000.00 in malpractice suits certainly makes it appear as though corruption exists. One thing for certain is that Bill Fulbright’s “JUST US” form of justice is bad news for Ravalli County citizens.
I welcome inquiries from any interested citizen who wants to see the Fulbright’s plea bargain deal that the criminal lawyer I consulted said was the most “questionable” deal he had ever seen in his 45+ years as a criminal lawyer.
