KLH Invite
Victor, Darby, and Florence competed alongside 18 other Montana schools at the KLH Invite in Missoula on Saturday, May 7th.
For the girls, Florence’s Kendall Boehm had a big day, finishing 1st in the discus (104-09) and 6th in the shot put (30-03). Hadassah Wilson from Darby finished 2nd in the 400m (1:02.63) and 2nd in the long jump (16-06.5). Wilson has the 2nd best long jump in Class C this year and is in the top ten in the 400m. Darby’s Amber Anderson took 3rd in the 100m hurdles (17.80). Victor’s Bella Scichilone took 4th in the triple jump (31-02.25). Florence’s Allison Streekstra finished 5th in the 3200m (14:53.31). Darby’s 4×100 relay team of Anderson, Wilson, Fisher, and Hawkinson took 6th. Florence’s 4×400 relay team of Boehm, Kidd, Cambell, and Skaggs took 5th.
For the boys, Florence’s Nathaniel Gale had a big day, finishing 1st in the 1600m (4:45.58) and 2nd in the 3200m (10:22.33). Gale is in the top 5 in both events for Class B. Florence’s Quinn Lue finished 1st in the high jump (6-02). Darby’s William Martin had a busy day, he took 2nd in the 300m hurdles (42.22), 4th in the 200m (23.75), and 5th in the 110m hurdles (16.53). Florence freshman Kyler Harris took 2nd in the 1600m (4:46.90) and 3rd in the 3200m (10:22.93). Victor’s Carson Varner took 3rd in the shot put (42-06.5). Victor’s Canyon Parks took 3rd in the triple jump (38-03.5). Florence’s Luke Maki took 6th in the discus (123-08).
Hamilton Quad
Track and field athletes from Corvallis, Frenchtown, Hamilton, and Polson competed in the Hamilton Quad on May 7th in Hamilton. Many Bitterroot Valley athletes posted some impressive marks.
For the boys, Andrew Burrows of Hamilton took 1st in the shot put (54-11). This is the best throw in Class A this year. Burrows also won the discus (145’10). Corvallis’s Brinson Wyche won the 1600m (4:41.75). Wyche has the fastest time in Class A this year in the 1600m and 3200m. Hamilton’s Eli Taylor (51.20) and Colter Kirkland (51.21) finished 1st and 2nd in the 400m, which are the 3rd and 4th fastest times in Class A. Hamilton’s Taylor Searle won the pole vault (13’0) and has the second best jump in Class A. Hamilton’s Tyson Rostad won the javelin (170-03), and has the 2nd best throw in Class A.
For the girls, Alana Auch won the discus (117-05). Auch has the 3rd best throw in Class A. Hamilton’s Layne Kearns won the long jump (16-02.5) and the triple jump (33-10). Kearns has the 3rd best triple jump in Class A this year.
Dillon Invitational
Stevensville and some Corvallis athletes competed at the Dillon Invitational on Saturday, May 7th.
For the girls, Madison Lewis of Corvallis took 1st in both the Shot Put (40-00.5) and Discus (120-01.5). Lewis has the best shot put mark in Class A this year as well as the 5th best discus throw. Stevensville’s Claire Hutchison took 3rd in the 100m (13.78). Corvallis’s Farah Wyche took 2nd in the 200m (27.84). Corvallis’s Olivia Lewis took 2nd in the 300m hurdles (47.03), 3rd in the 200m (28.59), and 6th in the 100m Hurdles. Corvallis’s Rylee Herbstritt took 4th in both the 100m hurdles (17.73) and the 300m hurdles (51.49) and 5th in the 200m (29.66). Corvallis’s Alina Brown took 3rd in the shot put (31-08). Corvallis’s Ava Leopold took 6th in the shot put (30-06) and 3rd in the discus (108-05). Stevensville’s Crystal Hazel took 4th in the discus (98-04). Corvallis’s Tahnee Lewis took 6th in the javelin (89-05). Laila Smart of Corvallis took 4th in the high jump (4-06). Corvallis’s Paige Colaprete took 4th in the long jump (14-07) and 2nd in the triple jump (29-11). Stevensville’s Cheyenne Sanner took 6th in the long jump (13-11). Corvallis’s Vivian Potter took 4th in the triple jump (28-06).
For the boys, Stevensville’s Kellan Beller took 1st in the javelin (162-06). Beller has the best throw in Class A this year. Beller also took 4th in the 100m (12.37). Corvallis’s Aiden Read finished 2nd in the 300m hurdles (44.17) and 3rd in the 110m hurdles (17.35). Corvallis’s Levi Reynoso took 2nd in the javelin (143-03). Corvallis’s Nate Davis took 3rd in the 300m hurdles (46.83) and 4th in the 110m hurdles ((17.82). Stevensville’s Hunter Gum took 3rd in the shot put (44-03.5). Corvallis’s Bryce Weidow finished 5th in the shot put (37-11). Stevensville’s TJ Brown took 4th in the 300m hurdles (46.92) and 6th in the high jump (5-04). Corvallis’s Ross Lewis took 2nd in the triple jump, while his teammate Nathan Rusk took 5th.
