Support for Burrows

May 11, 2022 by Guest Post

by Steve Holton, Ravalli County Sheriff

I am writing today in support of Jeff Burrows for County Commissioner. I have had the opportunity to work with Commissioner Burrows for a number of years and can confidently say that he truly comes to work every day with the best interest of our citizens and Ravalli County in mind. Commissioner Burrows takes the time to research the issues before him and makes informed decisions. He is willing to talk to his constituents and hear their thoughts and concerns in every venue.

In my opinion, one of a County Commissioner’s most important duties is managing the County’s budget. Commissioner Burrows works tirelessly to ensure the residents of Ravalli County are receiving the best service the County can afford, and that the services are sustainable into the future. Commissioner Burrows is not afraid to take a stand and vote for what he believes is right, whether it is a popular decision or not. Given the limited resources, Commissioner Burrows is adept at prioritizing projects and services in order to provide the best value for each tax dollar.

This is not to say that Commissioner Burrows and I always agree on an issue. What I can attest to is that he always listens to what I or my command staff has to say, and considers it in the big picture of Ravalli County government. Commissioner Burrows has been the Sheriff’s liaison the Board of County Commissioners for budgetary purposes for years, and your Sheriff’s Office has made progress each fiscal cycle. He takes the time to meet with my staff and I, and assists in building the budget proposal each year. Additionally, he is always available as problems and incidents arise, and is willing to work towards resolutions that benefit the citizens of Ravalli County.

In short, Commissioner Burrows has my trust and support for Ravalli County Commissioner.
