It has been brought to my attention that a local group of Patriots are being accused of forming a militia to overtake Ravalli County. To put your minds at ease, yes, we have formed a militia, and no, we have no plans to overtake Ravalli County. It is a community minded militia focused on just that; the community. We are ready and able to deliver firewood, bring you everyday necessities, drive you to an appointment, help you with your community garden, or come to the rescue should something happen on your property, ie. fallen tree. Our average age is probably 67 and we are not running around the woods in our camo gear. It is not the militia you’ve been indoctrinated into thinking it is. We are taking our words back and militia is in our Constitution. The 2nd Amendment: “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed”. In our case, we carry shovels, rakes and chainsaws. This is how our communities were structured for centuries, be it a natural disaster or an enemy threat; neighbors relied on neighbors.
I hope this helps you sleep at night now knowing that the rumor of war has been dispelled.

Just curious, is it you or Alan that is running for office. We only see comments from you. I agree with the comment written by Helen. Thank you .

Terry, I went to one of your meetings and when the talk of everyone becoming armed, and radios, and supporting our local law enforcement I left the meeting. I am a 4th generation Montanan and we are proud of our 6 generations of family here. I didn’t hear anything warm and fuzzy like what you are speaking now.
I continued to see shooting training and weapons training and support of protecting Montana, to the effect of no matter who gets in the way, or so was indicated me days ago by a young local who attached himself to your group.
Sheriff Holton does not stand with your group and has told me outright that he has his necessary network to perform ALL of his duties. I hope your colors have changed as you say.

Terry – you made me laugh. It’s great that you have a group of people who will help others, but using the term, militia, as you do, is stretching credulity. Using the term militia as you do smacks of cultural appropriation.
How about Valley friends? Because that is more appropriate for what you are claiming your volunteers act like – friends. OR helping hands? Just a suggestion. But the term militia is emotionally loaded and should be reserved for what a militia truly does and is used for and it isn’t for chopping wood, or etc.
