In the March 30 Opinion Page letter, Rep. David Bedey stated in his first paragraph, “If approved, this endeavor (of creating a “special select committee” to investigate election fraud) will cost the taxpayers anywhere from a half-million to a million dollars. Later on the same Opinion page, Helen Sabin of Corvallis bemoaned the fact that we might have to pay a PERMANENT Levy (tax) to support the Community College District of the Bitterroot Valley, if approved.
In the recent investigation of such election fraud in Missoula County, it was concluded by the committee, including members of the Republican Party, that NO IRREGULARITIES were found!
The notion that there was election fraud because our former President lost and his “ego” was hurt has run its course. Let us get back to working toward a great future for our country by educating our population through the approval of our CCDBV rather than wasting money on these false allegations to provide salve to the hurt ego of the former President!
I, for one, am willing to pay $100-200 more per year on my property tax towards the education in skilled training for our adult population. Let’s not waste a half million dollars to investigate the unfounded speculation that there was “election fraud” and put that money into the education of our citizens.
